Cooking Male Caprice Salad:

Step 1: boil the meat for the salad.

When preparing the “Male Whim” salad, you just can’t do without a meat base. However, meat should not attract special attention. Therefore, it is best to use veal flesh. Pork will do. With a chicken you get a more "female" version. So, boil the meat for the salad. It is better to boil the meat in a whole piece. Thoroughly wash the meat from dust under cold running water. If there is a film, then it is better to carefully cut it with a thin sharp knife. Pour meat with cold water. We put on fire and bring to a boil. As soon as the meat boils, drain the water. Rinse the meat again under cold running water. Rinse and pan from the remains of the foam. Again, fill with cold water, set on fire and bring to a boil. When the meat boils a second time, add 1 teaspoon salt 3-5 peas black pepper and a couple of bay leaves. Reduce the heat so that the meat boils a little and cook the meat 20-30 minutes. You can check the readiness of the meat by piercing it to the middle with a wooden skewer or knife - if it comes in easily and the anemone does not appear on the cut, then the meat is ready. Ready meat must be cooled and disassembled into fibers. It is better if the fiber length does not exceed 1.5-2 centimeters. Leave the meat until fully cooked.

Step 2: pickle the onion.

To make a "man's" salad, you will need 2-3 large bulbs. We clean the onion, wash it under cold running water and cut into thin half rings. Next, we need to marinate the onions. There are several ways to pickle onions. The most popular and easiest is pickling in an acid solution. You can create such a solution in at least three ways. Even if no lemon is found in the refrigerator, it can always be replaced with vinegar or citric acid. So on 2-3 onions we will need: 1 teaspoon salt, ground black pepper on the tip of a knife, a tiny pinch of sugar, 3 cups water, juice of one lemon (it is possible with zest) or 1 tablespoon vinegar, or 1 teaspoon citric acid. Put the chopped onion in a glass or ceramic bowl, salt, pepper, add sugar and acid, fill everything with water at room temperature, mix. Leave the onion to marinate in our solution. 10-15 minutes. The shorter the pickling time, the crisp and closer the onion to its original state. When the onion is sufficiently marinated, drain the solution from it, and rinse the onion slightly in cool water.

Step 3: three eggs and cheese.

We will need 2 eggs. First, we boil them hard boiled. We put the eggs in a pan, pour cold water, add a teaspoon of salt and put on fire. After boiling the eggs, cook 10 minutes. Ready eggs are immediately placed in cold water, preferably flowing. This will help to clear them from the shell without much effort. Once the eggs have cooled slightly, clean them and separate the yolk from the protein. This is very simple: cut the egg in half and pick out the yolk from the protein. We take a fine grater and three separately yolk, separately protein. For salad, we need grated hard cheese. The salinity of the cheese must be taken into account when adding salt when mixing the salad. If you come across a loose structure cheese that crumbles rather than rubs, then this is very easy to fix. You just need to put a piece of cheese in the freezer on 10-30 minutes (depending on the size of the piece). So, we get the cheese from the freezer and three it on a coarse grater on a separate plate. Almost all the ingredients for the salad are ready.

Step 4: form and cool the salad.

Since “Male whim” refers to puff salads, we will immediately soak it with mayonnaise on a serving platter. Take a large flat dish. The first layer we have will be pickled onions. On the onion lay a layer of meat disassembled into fibers. It's okay if the layers mix a little with each other. We smear mayonnaise with the third layer. The best for puff salads is not too thick mayonnaise, you can even take forty percent, the taste will not suffer from this. A layer of meat should be completely covered with mayonnaise, but not swim in it. Put the grated protein and half of the grated yolk in the fourth layer. Again, a little grease with mayonnaise. The final layer we will have cheese, and spread first 3 quantities. Then we wet our hands in cold water and lightly press down all layers of the salad. At the same time, we correct the shape, give the salad the desired look. When the salad is formed, put it in the refrigerator for an hour to soak.

Step 5: serve the "Male Whim" salad.

When the salad is saturated, we take it out of the refrigerator. On the entire surface of the salad, including the sides, we coat a thin layer of mayonnaise. Without crushing on top, sprinkle with the remnants of grated cheese. Since we grated the cheese on a coarse grater, we should get something like small, sticking fragments in all directions. Sprinkle with the remnants of grated yolk on top, so that it clings to the tops of the cheese. We take the olives, put them in a colander so that the liquid completely leaves them. Cut each olive into 6-8 parts and pierce over the entire surface of the salad. You can do this in a chaotic manner, or you can lay out some pattern. The serving dish on which we formed our salad can also be decorated with olives, cut into rings or halves. Before serving, it is best to keep the salad in the refrigerator. Enjoy your meal!
