The recipe for ham, melon and mozzarella dumplings was born from my wandering on the net in search of some ideas. This time I wanted to make a fresh and quick summer recipe. I came across the website of a well-known Italian food manufacturer with a part dedicated to quick and fresh recipe ideas. Among the many ideas of summer recipes to be made that I found on this site, I decided to take inspiration from that of the prosciutto, melon and mozzarella rolls.

Obviously I made my own reinterpretation but the inspiration was crucial.

Let's see what is needed and how these ham, melon and mozzarella dumplings are made.

Ingredients for 16 bundles:

100 g of melon
100 g of mozzarella
10 slices of sweet ham cut thick (not thin)
Chive stems (green colored kitchen floss if missing)

Preparation of the ham, melon and mozzarella dumplings.

Very simple to prepare these bundles. Take the slices of ham and spread them out on a work surface. If they are too thin, fold them in half.
Cut the mozzarella into cubes.
Take a melon and divide it in half. Remove the seeds inside the half of the melon with the help of a spoon.

Cut a slice of melon from half and remove the peel. Weigh the slice which must be around 100 g. If the slice weighs less or more than 100 g of a few grams, do not worry it will be okay. Otherwise try to get to a pound of melon. Cut the melon slice into cubes.

Put the melon and mozzarella cubes on a plate, season with a tablespoon of oil and a grind of green pepper and mix well.

Now take a teaspoon of cubes and put it in the ham. Close each bundle. Tie the bundle with a stem of chives or kitchen thread. Refrigerate and serve cold as an appetizer on warm summer evenings.
